本纪录片以年逾97岁的饶平如老先生一生坎坷经历为故事背景，用他亲手绘制的画本及大量历史影视资料和真实再现的艺术手法展示他艰难曲折而又美好的爱情故事。该片同时也从侧面描绘中华民族历经近一个世纪的历史变迁。

The documentary film is based on the story of more than 97-year-old Rao Pingru's lifetime of frustrations, and uses the hand-drawn picture book of him and a large number of historical film and television materials and real reproduction techniques to show the difficult and beautiful love story of him. The film also depicts the historical changes of Chinese nationality in the past nearly one century side-on at the same time.
