本片灵感来源于贾平凹先生在1989年撰写的一篇怀念其父的祭文，其中，记述了父子三人卖猪的酸涩经历。影片以陕北黄土高原风情为故事背景，用高质量的美术创作手法表现黄土高原的壮观、凄美、空旷、博大。创作过程中不仅融合浓厚的陕北风格艺术表现手法，同时，以讲述了大娃、二娃兄弟俩卖猪的有趣内容为主线贯穿整个故事脉络。
This film is inspired by a condolence essay written by the famous writer Jia Pingwa in 1989, in which he recorded a father and son's miserable experience of selling a pig. Northern Shaanxi Loess Plateau, the manifests the magnificence, the chilly beauty, spaciousness and broadness of the Loess Plateau with high-quality art creation approaches. During the process of creation, not only the artistic expressive ways of the Northern Shaanxi, it also depicts the funny content of the two brothers' selling of the pig, which serves as the main story line from beginning to end.
